The buildings bill, which one industry predicted to Green Building Insider has about a 90 percent chance of passing during this session, is designed to help President Obama (D) achieve his goal of reducing the energy consumption of the federal government by training federal facility managers to implement and properly use existing energy-efficient technologies. Also, the Alliance to Save Energy has applauded the inclusion of Home Star in the Democrats' new energy proposal, and House lawmakers have recommended a policy change on forestry products to the U.S. Green Building Council.
